It’s 2012! Still figuring out what’s next!

Throughout the course of 2011′s fall, we regularly found new and cool connections being made because of this initiative. So many people have said that the material captured OnTheRoad during July 2011 really needs to be taken to the next step. So, we are now figuring out what that actually means.

We have 28 solid interviews from people who are in the business of making art for a living. The practical advice given during these interviews was even more compelling than we had hoped and guessed it would be.

If you’ve not checked out the photos on Facebook yet, you need to soon. Also, don’t forget to check out the videos posted on this site.

If you are particularly interested in helping up make this happen, don’t hesitate to email us!

We made it home! Thanks for following, but don’t stop yet!

We made it home! Thanks for following, but don’t stop yet!

So we did make it home. We even tacked on an extra day of interviews with Mack and Kilroy for Day #17.

Morgan and Jake invite you to stay tuned as we continue to post more from the trip, and as we finalize how we’re going to wrap all of this great material into something that people can enjoy beyond the website stuff. We have a plan that we’re finalizing. So stay tuned!

SPECIAL NOTE: We know there are some big gaps and holes in what’s been posted. We’ll be filling those in as soon as we can.

Thanks again for following us!

Day #16: July 23

A. We met with our friend Tom Ogburn at a new ministry facility being finished up in Oklahoma City. We changed things up where Tom interviewed Jake and Morgan to start the “debriefing” portion of the trip. They have a lot to process, and Tom helped get that process started.

B. We drove through the Dallas area where we picked up some stuff that was left at the Marrs’ home. Said hi, ate some great snacks, and headed on further south.

C. Arrived at home for just enough time to get cleaned up for the evening.

D. We arrived at the Horny Toad Bar & Grill to meet the Wayward Sons Band before their gig there Saturday evening. We had a great time listening to them, interviewing them, and seeing friends. Jake and Morgan sat in on a couple of songs. Great fun!

Day #17: July 24

A. Morgan and Miriam both played music at separate churches for the morning. Matt taught his Sunday School class, and Jake attended.

B. We had some fun in Waco after grabbing some lunch.

C. We headed to Mack and Jessie Abernathy’s house where Jake and Morgan interviewed both Eddie Kilroy and Mack Abernathy until late in the evening.

We originally had planned on phone interviews with these guys, but decided later that if we could do the sit-down-thing, it would be better. We’re glad we did!

Days #10-11

Days #10-11

Sunday and Monday with the Cleveland Browns! :-)

We’re staying with Nichol & Jim Brown, and Matt gets a kick ouf of referring to them as The Cleveland Browns.

So, we’ve spent two solid days at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. It’s been great!

A. Day #10 – Breakfast at Presti’s with Jim & Nichol.

B. RRHoF until we got kicked out at 5:30pm.

C. Tried out a new franchise of customizable and really, really tasty pizza from PizzaBoGo.

D. We discussed the schedule for Monday and Tuesday while Jim and Jake shot Jim’s bow in the back yard.

E. Day #11 – After sleep, Monday began with us dropping Jake and Morgan off at a cemetery… a really cool one… where they checked out the Presidential monument for James A. Garfield. This is while Miriam and I went to get breakfast.

F. We made it to the RRHoF in time to catch an Army ceremony in front of the building.

G. We worked our way through more of the RRHoF, but didn’t quite finish it up… as we left a little early to get home early in prep for the evening.

H. We had a great and enjoyable dinner with Nichol and Jim.

I. We loaded up and headed to Zygote Press to print a bunch of custom posters to commemorate our trip. We finished up around 11:30pm… home by midnight!

We added a bunch of pictures from the printing process to Facebook… and a timelapse video to the website and YouTube.

It’s been another couple of great, creative and enjoyable days!
